well, that number is not very unusual. Unless you say it needs to be done in a minute. It all depends on hosts, the scan config and other network aspects. So there is no general rule. In theory there is of course no limit :-) The are various ways of scaling up. You really should define your real-world requirements first. A plain number of IPs is not sufficient.
