Hi Team,
Need help on starting the services.
I installed the openvas 7 on the ubuntu machine using the source code.
I followed the install file.
When i ran a openvas setup check (the script available on your site)
It through the error:
Step 7: Checking if OpenVAS services are up and running ...
OK: netstat found, extended checks of the OpenVAS services enabled.
OK: OpenVAS Scanner is running and listening only on the local
interface.
OK: OpenVAS Scanner is listening on port 9391, which is the default
port.
OK: OpenVAS Manager is running and listening on all interfaces.
OK: OpenVAS Manager is listening on port 9390, which is the default
port.
ERROR: Greenbone Security Assistant is NOT running!
FIX: Start Greenbone Security Assistant (gsad).
But when i checked the services individually using command:
root@ip-172-31-18-208:~/check# service openvas-scanner status
OpenVAS Scanner is not running.
root@ip-172-31-18-208:~/check# service openvas-scanner start
Starting OpenVAS Scanner: WARN: The (expected) certificate file
/var/lib/openvas/CA//cakey.pem is not available.The OpenVAS daemon might
not start up.WARN: The (expected) certificate file
/var/lib/openvas/CA//serverkey.pem is not available.The OpenVAS daemon
might not start up.bind() failed : Address already in use ERROR.
When i looked to the cakey.pem and serverkey.pem, they are available on
this path.
root@ip-172-31-18-208:~/check# service openvas-manager status
OpenVAS Manager is not running.
root@ip-172-31-18-208:~/check# service openvas-manager start
Starting OpenVAS Manager: ERROR.
root@ip-172-31-18-208:~/check# service openvas-manager status
OpenVAS Manager is not running.
root@ip-172-31-18-208:~/check# service openvas-manager start
Starting OpenVAS Manager: ERROR.
root@ip-172-31-18-208:~/check# sudo service openvas-administrator status
OpenVAS Administrator is not running.
root@ip-172-31-18-208:~/check# sudo service greenbone-security-assistant
status
Greenbone Security Assistant is not running.
Please help me out for this issue.
PLease do mention the procedure.
