Dear Sirs, / Hi! I've installed openvas via atomic repo on centos 7/x64 in March 2015. it was working fine until now. (opevas 7) after the last upgrade (yum update -y), openvasmd hangs on rebuilding the database can't run any task via gsad. Maybe the upgrade to openvas 8 is the problem, but couldn't find any info on the net. The same problem with 2 different servers on different LANs. versions: openvas-scanner-5.0.3-21.el7.art.x86_64 openvas-smb-1.0.1-0.2.el7.art.x86_64 openvas-libraries-8.0.3-19.el7.art.x86_64 openvas-cli-1.4.1-7.el7.art.x86_64 openvas-1.0-20.el7.art.noarch openvas-manager-6.0.3-30.el7.art.x86_64 greenbone-security-assistant-6.0.3-18.el7.art.x86_64 redis-2.8.20-3.el7.art.x86_64 sqlite-3.7.17-4.el7.x86_64 gnutls-3.3.8-12.el7.x86_64 Linux scanner1 3.10.0-229.4.2.el7.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed May 13 10:06:09 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux ps ax|grep openvas 28765 ? Ss 2:21 openvassd: Reloaded all the NVTs. 28904 pts/0 S 0:00 openvasmd: Rebuilding 29737 ? S 0:00 openvasmd: Initializing. the openvasmd process doesn't use any CPU it just hangs forever and must be 'killed' by hand. I've erased all packages and /var/lib/openvas, /var/cache/openvas reinstalled everything, yet still the same error logs show no interesting msgs. Could you please help me with this issue? thanks I googled and tried for 2 days now, no success when starting: service openvas-manager start Redirecting to /bin/systemctl start openvas-manager.service [root@BUD-Scanner02 ~]# md main:WARNING:2015-06-08 18h31.26 utc:30287: database must be initialised from scanner (with --update or --rebuild) lib auth: INFO:2015-06-08 18h31.26 utc:30287: Authentication configuration not found. when killing openvasmd: ==> /var/log/openvas/openvasmd.log <== lib serv:WARNING:2015-06-08 18h30.03 utc:28904: Failed to shake hands with peer: Error in the pull function. lib serv:WARNING:2015-06-08 18h30.03 utc:28904: Failed to shutdown server socket What I've done: service openvas-manager stop service openvas-scanner stop service gsad stop KILL all processes rpm -e openvas openvas-libraries openvas-cli openvas-scanner openvas-smb openvas-manager greenbone-security-assistant rm -fr /var/cache/openvas rm -fr /var/lib/openvas rm -fr /var/log/openvas rm -fr /etc/openvas rm -fr /usr/bin/openvas-cli rm -fr /usr/bin/openvasad rm -fr /usr/share/doc/openvas-manager rm -fr /usr/share/doc/openvas-scanner rm -fr /tmp/openvas* rm -f /etc/sysconfig/openvas-scanner.rpmsave rm -fr /usr/share/openvas rm -fr /usr/include/openvas yum install -y openvas openvas-libraries openvas-cli openvas-scanner openvas-smb openvas-manager greenbone-security-assistant test -e /var/lib/openvas/CA/cacert.pem || openvas-mkcert -q openvas-nvt-sync openvas-mkcert-client -n -i service openvas-manager stop service openvas-scanner stop openvassd openvasmd --migrate openvasmd --rebuild openvas-scapdata-sync openvas-certdata-sync service openvas-scanner restart service openvas-manager restart service gsad restart systemctl enable openvas-manager.service systemctl enable openvas-scanner.service systemctl enable gsad.service Thanks, I hope someone can help ;) Any other info needed, please ask for them.... |
