thanks. I got it working. Issue was happening only when i scan ec2 network IPs 
and openvas also installed on an  ec2 machine. Am able to scan other datacentre 
IPs without any issues. I think at ec2, intra zone communication happens 
through private network even if we use public IP and its creating issue

I do not think the gnutls error has something to do with the problem you see.

Have you checked the results section "Errors"?

Can you modify the target to "Consider Alive" and retry?
In the logs it says it is considered dead, so if still no results, maybe
you are using a dead IP address?
