First of all I apologies for my English. let me try to explain this in a way that at least someone can understand :)
1. well after not using openvas for 2 years or so decided to download the *openvas beta2* using the ubuntu PPA on the site. all well everything working well.. I have some experience from before setting it up.. so I let openvas creates the SSH credentials for me. My test environment is on AWS (opsworks/ec2 instances) so I download the public key that openvas is handing to me.. I upload to all my ec2 instances under a current user.. and add the key into the authorized_keys file. I log in with that user and works from my regular places.. so basically I just added a another key to the file.. nothing new I do this all the time.. there is no limit on public keys for that. so I create a test task and run it... and notice all the ssh fails.. with "SSH Login Failed For Authenticated Checks" and... SSH Authorization Check 0.0 (Log) 80% 10.11.1.63 22/tcp Add NoteAdd Override Summary This script tries to login with provided credentials. If the login was successful, it marks this port as available for any authenticated tests. Vulnerability Detection Result It was not possible to login using the provided SSH credentials. Hence authenticated checks are not enabled. Log Method Details: SSH Authorization Check (OID: 1.3.6.1.4.1.25623.1.0.90022) Version used: $Revision: 2752 $ this for all my instances.. around 10 of them.. so I am like.. hmmm odd maybe openvas is not creating the private key and giving me the right public key to put on the servers.. so I upload the private key I use all the time and works 100%.... *same result* so now I know for sure is an openvas issue also searching for this on google I stumble with same issues on 2012 that came to be a bug. maybe the new version 9 re-introduces this or a similar bug? anything I can do? I will be happy to figure out the error is actually on my side.. any help so we can check?
