Hi,

I solved this issue by installing some 'recommended' texlive packages on CentOS
7.

#yum install texlive-collection-fontsrecommended
texlive-collection-latexrecommended

Here is more detailed troubleshooting process.

1, I found the openvas PDF report generate script is located at
/usr/share/openvas/openvasmd/report_formats/c402cc3e-b531-11e1-9163-406186ea4fc5/
and also found that LaTeX report generate script is located at
/usr/share/openvas/openvasmd/report_formats/a684c02c-b531-11e1-bdc2-406186ea4fc5/

2, I tried to download the LaTeX report first, it works well, then I modified
the PDF generate script, so that I can get the error log, just remove /dev/null
with some log file name. please find the error log attached, it shows someting
like "! I can't find file `ecrm1000'."

3, Google the error message, found some advice to install fonts recommended,
but it was already installed before, then I found others said some package
named 'texlive-latex-recommended', search that in CentOS's repo, found
"texlive-collection-latexrecommended", install it and issue solved.

Thanks for all who shares experience in http://tex.stackexchange.com .

Qian

I think openvas 9 is still using same way to generate raports.

Check out generate script under correct format specific directory?

Resend with title correction.

I have the same issue, openvas v9 on CentOS 7, upgraded from v8.

openvas-check-setup --v9 shows 'PDF generation successful', but the pdf report
generated from GSA web has no text, only few tables.

Qian
