Hello, greetings from California: been stuck trying to get this to work on FreeBSD. Can't start or run successfully. Updated the ports tree to the latest.
FreeBSD server.domain.com 10.3-RELEASE FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE #0: Thu Jul 14 15:29:23 PDT 2016 [email protected]:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/SERVER_IPF amd64 When I run openvas-check-setup with the --server flag (incidentally, had to change stat -c to stat -f on line 406 since that's different in FreeBSD): Step 1: Checking OpenVAS Scanner ... OK: OpenVAS Scanner is present in version 5.0.5. OK: OpenVAS Scanner CA Certificate is present as /var/lib/openvas/CA/cacert.pem. OK: redis-server is present in version v=3.0.7. OK: scanner (kb_location setting) is configured properly using the redis-server socket: /tmp/redis.sock OK: redis-server is running and listening on socket: /tmp/redis.sock. OK: redis-server configuration is OK and redis-server is running. OK: NVT collection in /var/lib/openvas/plugins contains 52606 NVTs. WARNING: Signature checking of NVTs is not enabled in OpenVAS Scanner. SUGGEST: Enable signature checking (see http://www.openvas.org/trusted-nvts.html). OK: The NVT cache in /var/cache/openvas contains 53195 files for 52606 NVTs. Step 2: Checking OpenVAS Manager ... OK: OpenVAS Manager is present in version 6.0.8. OK: OpenVAS Manager client certificate is present as /var/lib/openvas/CA/clientcert.pem. OK: OpenVAS Manager database found in /var/lib/openvas/mgr/tasks.db. ERROR: The access rights of the OpenVAS Manager database are incorrect. FIX: Run 'chmod 600 /var/lib/openvas/mgr/tasks.db'. ERROR: Your OpenVAS-8 installation is not yet complete! Please follow the instructions marked with FIX above and run this script again. log output: lib serv:WARNING:2017-04-06 01h08.36 utc :1777: Failed to shake hands with peer: The TLS connection was non-properly terminated. lib auth: INFO:2017-04-06 05h22.48 utc :3332: Authentication configuration not found. md main:WARNING:2017-04-06 05h22.48 utc :3332: database must be initialised from scanner (with --update or --rebuild) lib serv:WARNING:2017-04-06 05h44.50 utc :3609: Failed to shake hands with peer: The TLS connection was non-properly terminated. lib serv:WARNING:2017-04-06 05h45.13 utc :3615: Failed to shake hands with peer: The TLS connection was non-properly terminated. lib serv:WARNING:2017-04-06 05h45.18 utc :3618: Failed to shake hands with peer: The TLS connection was non-properly terminated.
