All openvpn needs to do is enable the 'only allow list users' to post.
I second Michael's suggestion.
Just joined this list a few days ago and, as I do with most other lists,
added the address to my whitelist bypassing the spam filter. I've had
to delete more spam due to this list in the past few days than I normally
do in a few weeks and I also subscribe to many SF lists.
Yes -- I totally agree that the spam on this list has reached
unacceptable levels.
Unfortunately the web interface provided by Sourceforge to manage
project mailing lists is almost useless for configuring spam filtering
settings. I looked through the various options, and unless I'm missing
something, I did not notice any 'only allow list users to post'
settings. It certainly was there a while back, but it seems to be
missing now.
At this point, I'm strongly considering moving openvpn-users,
openvpn-devel, and openvpn-announce off of sourceforge and onto one of
the openvpn.net servers. This would give myself and the OpenVPN project
full control of the mailing lists, and a much better ability to keep the
lists spam-free.
