Is Grub supposed to boot Windows, or is Grub supposed to boot some theoretical ideal Windows-like thing, but not actually work reliably for Windows in the real world? I assert that it should be the latter, and thus this is by *definition* a bug in Grub. At least until it's been properly analysed and shown that Grub *can't* possibly work around it. And even then, there'd be a bug with that analysis and a 'WONTFIX' conclusion. -- dwmw2
