Nothing magic here, just getting rid of "we might eventually use that
for something" parameters... (and creating backport challenges wrt 2.7
and older :-) ).
BB says this compiled fine on all platforms, we were just plagued by
spurious connectivity issues... (re-running tests = all green).
Your patch has been applied to the master branch.
