Well, there is nothing in the logs, even when I raise verbosity to the maximum I see nothing special. The funny thing is also that when I ping the unpingable host I see the packet coming within the openvpn process, when in maximum verbosity mode. This means in my opinion, that this limit cannot be in the tap kernel driver, but must be in openvpn somehow. I also know openvpn as quite talkative when it comes to special cases, but in this case there's just nothing. When analyzing with tcpdump, I see arp packets going to the client asking for the mac-address, but no answer.
