The scripts I am referring to are run by the Windows GUI and are not specified in the config file at all. See the README file for how they are named etc. The timeouts can be changed in the settings menu. Windows GUI uses .bat files as scripts and runs them as user who starts the GUI. (Tunnelblick uses .sh files, I believe). In any case openvpn.exe only runs scripts specified in the config so no harm in distributing windows scripts to non-windows users. Those will just get ignored.
