i run an openvpn server on a fedora 28 workstation. i connect often via it to
my network with my android or ios smart phone and that works fine. same with a
windows 10 PC.

i then try connecting from an asus tinker board running xubuntu 18.04 and while
it does connect and i can access my LAN's resources, i have no dns resolution.
i watch the connection log from the openvpn log output on my command line and i
see the dns being pushed to me differs from what is set on my openvpn
server.conf file. why would that be and only so far for this one client
connection from xubuntu? Thanks.

to be clear, when i'm connected with any of my other clients, i have perfectly
working outside DNS.
