Hej list,

on a friends linux router I found a running openvpn 2.0. We are in
trouble with this router because of repeatedly connection requests that
are unsuccessful but kill the openvpn server after some time.

The source of the requests (IPs) are changing from time to time (amazon
clou, google cloud, etc), so there is no chance to drop them by a static
firewall rule.

First thing I'm planning to do is upgrade the whole box. But this is not
going to be the final solution because the requests will go on!

I hope that this is a quite common trouble so I hope to get a hint on
how to handle this from you!? I though there could be an option that
blacklists hosts after unsuccesssful authorisation.....

Thanks,

Boris
