I just discovered that the Ubuntu Server which runs my OVPN service will not
restart after a power-out glitch so I am now setting up a backup connection OVPN
server to reach my LAN even after a powerout-powerrestore sequence.

Since I have used RaspberryPi4 devices successfully to handle VPN connectivity
and since the RPi will definitively start up when power is applied this will
safeguard my connection ability.

So I have now started up an RPi4B 8GB device with the latest PI-OS Bookworm 64
bit loaded and was going to configure the system for OVPN.

My notes outlining this refer to easy-rsa version 3.1.5 for cert handling but
when I look at GitHub the latest easy-rsa3 is 3.2.1 so a bit newer than what I
have used.

So my question here is if easy-rsa3 ver 3.2.1 is compatible with scripts created
for 3.1.5?

Or should I just copy over the crt, key and pem files used by OVPN server from
the main server so this will in effect be a clone of the main server and the
OVPN files will work as on the main server?

I will have to add port forwarding on the LAN router for nonstandard access
ports such that both the main and backup server can be reached on different
ports of course.

But by using the existing files the users need only modify the connection port
in their OVPN files to be able to connect...

Please advice the best solution!

TIA
