Saving the credentials in a plain text store is not really acceptable for large deployments of ruote-rest. I've made a note of this and will revisit your patch in ruote-kit. Please jump on the other threads John linked to and chime in on what you guys would like to see/expect from a complete rewrite of ruote-rest.
