 some additional information about my question.

 i have a google spreadsheet as below

 step, timeout
 decide_jobdetails, 3d
 decide_worker, 1d
 ----------------------------------
 so, my participant or listener will get the timeout property from the
spreadsheet,
 and set it dynamically to the workitem.
