Hello Christophe,

I just tried with ruby 1.8.7 (2008-08-11 patchlevel 72)
[i686-darwin10.2.0] and couldn't reproduce the error (works for me).

The "stack level too deep" message is a symptom of an infinite
recursion, ulimit will not help.

Could you please run with

  ruby ruote_quickstart.rb -d

and paste the resulting stack trace here ?

Thanks in advance,
