The second one was definitely closer to our use case, since we were running the engines inside passenger. Since then we refactored it to use one dedicated ruote process outside of the app server. We also moved the process launching into the background, which forces a delay... I'm not quite sure which of these actually solved the issue (I assume it's the dedicated worker though), but everything is peachy now!
