Hi John, sorry for my very late reply but I also did not receive any sort
of notification. I did not yet try your suggestion of removing the
configuration file, but I did try running the ruby interpreter with 'sudo'
to gain elevated privileges, and that seemed to fix the problem.
Thanks for your input, it's helpful to know what's happening beneath the
surface.
