Yes it would be ok, although generating all the required files, writing automated tests, writing docs and testing these configurations on real devices will take a lot of time and I'm not sure there will be extra time to develop the part that updates the device. That said, any extra effort any student will want to put will be very welcome and rewarded by me and the community.
