This week has been a very empty week for me. This week was slow because I
have been having connectivity problems all weeks, of which i complained to
my mentor. I was not able to do any good work because the connection was
very unstable and slow so I could not code or research properly. Because of
this problem I have had to switch my ISP yesterday and now my connection is
a bit more reliable.
Because of this delay this week I will have to do more work next week and
put in extra hours to cover up.
I ended up taking the week to read best practices about reactjs
and play around with some react concepts in order to be able to write the
best code and follow the bests standards for the next part of the library
which will be implemented in react.
So by the end of the next week, I will have to have done the
following tasks:
- integrate the basic editor with react js,
- implement various events to be used in the library within the basic
editor.
- bind the basic editor events to the main editor module and then to the
advanced editor module to ensure that every change on the basic editor is
reflected through all modules and to the final data being returned
- Also write beginner tests for the basic editor module
By the end of the week if I am fast enough I will also accomplish
as many of the following task as possible:
- Figure out how to avoid the basic editor module from depending on the
client including bootstrap for css as a dependency
- I intend to port the main module to reactjs
- And also port the advanced editor module to reactjs so as to make the
technologies being used all over to be unanimous.
However the week was not all bad as at the beginning of the week I had a
breakthrough. The work I have been doing to extend the liform-react library
to be used for the basic editor was merged and this is what has made it
possible to proceed to the next phase of my work on
netjsonconfig-editor.js.
PR: https://github.com/Limenius/liform-react/pull/11
I just received and email confirming that I passed the first evaluation, so
I would like to say thanks to @nemesis design for the guidance he has been
offering so far in the program and also for the help he has been giving me
and all other interns.
Have a great weekend everyone.
