Hello, OpenWISP community! I'm HizkiFW and I've done quite a few GCI tasks, so I thought I'd have to introduce myself properly.
I've always had a passion for programming since I was little. Being able to create and see my creations grow is a really amazing thing for me. I discovered GitHub a long time ago, but have only been using it to contribute to other projects recently. So far, it's been an amazing experience, and being useful to the community really makes me feel happy. I don't usually like to put effort for someone else, but everyone is so nice to each other I decided to give more to the community. I've tried out many programming languages, including PHP, JavaScript, Java, C#, Python, and a bit of C and C++. I have plenty of experience working as a front end web dev. I've also developed several Android apps using Java. Currently, I'm mostly using Python, but I also like to try other languages every once in a while. I'm still struggling with C and C++, but I'm sure I'll master them one day. I also really like to write, anything from stories, guides, reviews, anything. I'm not a native English speaker, so I think that writing is a great wayo to help me improve my communication skills. I initially got attracted to OpenWISP because of the easy tasks, but decided to stay because I realized that open sourcing networking software is really important for privacy. We need to be able to trust the devices we're connected to, and the best way to do it is by open sourcing the software. Most networking devices we use are run on proprietary software, so replacing them with open source alternatives would be a step in the right direction towards the free and open internet that we can fully trust.
