at the moment you can do the following:

1. create the template or templates you want to use
2. in each device, override the specific interface with the minimum
required fields and add the ip there

In the near future we could avoid step 2 with the device context feature
<https://github.com/openwisp/django-netjsonconfig/issues/21> which will
allow you to define local variables for each device, initially in JSON
format and then through an auto-generated web UI field.

We also have an ip & subnet administration module in the works but still
need improvement before we can integrate it properly in openwisp-controller:
