Hello everyone,
My name is Shivangi Srivastava and I’m a Computer Science undergraduate from KIET Group of Institutions, India. I’m interested in contributing to OpenWISP as a prospective participant for Google Summer of Code 2026. My technical background includes JavaScript, React, Node.js, and general web development. I have experience building frontend applications using modern JavaScript frameworks and working with REST APIs. While exploring the GSoC ideas, I found the “OpenWISP WiFi Login Pages Modernization” project particularly interesting. I’m especially interested in the tasks related to refactoring the status component, improving the architecture, and upgrading the project to React 19. Currently I’m exploring the openwisp-wifi-login-pages repository and reviewing issues like #918 and #870 to better understand the codebase. I plan to start by reproducing some of the existing issues and contributing fixes. If there are any recommended beginner issues or areas of the codebase that new contributors should explore first, I would really appreciate the guidance. Looking forward to learning from the community and contributing to the project. Thank you! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "OpenWISP" group.
