Just to be clear, are you referring to /etc/init.d/syslog?  You are
asserting that that file comes from X-Wrt, not (Kamikaze) OpenWRT and
that OpenWRT starts syslogd in /etc/init.d/boot?  I'd just like to make
the starting of syslogd/klog be more flexible with regard to using
syslog-ng if it's available.  So for OpenWRT, I'd make that change
in /etc/init.d/boot?
