You patches look good. I would be inclined to merge your patches to help the 2.6 port run on the Netgear WGR614L. To get a 2.6 kernel boot on this device you should look at the the SPI flash driver for the Atheros boards to get in shape with the 2.6 kernel : https://dev.openwrt.org/browser/trunk/target/linux/atheros/files/drivers/mtd/devices/spiflash.c Hope that helps.
