Let's see if I can clarify even more. It's the image that gets passed
to the trx command with the second -f argument? So if my trx command
is:

/usr/src/openwrt/staging_dir/host/bin/trx
-o /usr/src/openwrt/bin/openwrt-brcm47xx-squashfs.trx
-f /usr/src/openwrt/build_dir/linux-brcm47xx/loader.gz
-f /usr/src/openwrt/build_dir/linux-brcm47xx/vmlinux.lzma -a 1024
-f /usr/src/openwrt/build_dir/linux-brcm47xx/root.squashfs -a 0x10000
-A /usr/src/openwrt/build_dir/linux-brcm47xx/fs_mark

Then my kernel
is /usr/src/openwrt/build_dir/linux-brcm47xx/vmlinux.lzma?

I'm pretty sure I'm right, but confirmation is always nice. :-)
