This is actually possible, using a bit of a hack. OpenWrt supports building an external kernel tree, which is a directory where you maintain your own sources of the kernel. This directory can actually contain real sources of a kernel or even nothing. In your case, you might want to set this external build tree setting with: make menuconfig [*] Advanced configuration options (for developers) ---> (/home/florian/dev/kernel/linux-queue) Use external kernel tree > > i will be thankful, if some one can provide answer to my question.
