I have a revC D-Link DIR-615 that I finally succeeded in flashing with
a openwrt-ar71xx-dir-615c1-squashfs.uni image.
Both the emergency flash mode and the regular firmware update
through the D-Link web UI were failing. I finally noticed that the
latest D-Link firmware image differs from the *.uni images -- the
hardware string at the end is 2 bytes longer, and ends with
00AP81-AR9130-RT-070614-02 (total image size: 3866650)
instead of
AP81-AR9130-RT-070614-02 (total image size: 3866648)
I inserted the 2 extra '0' characters and was able to flash it using
the web UI. I haven't had occasion to try the emergency mode yet, but
I'm sure I will :-)
