nbd asked me earlier today what sort of txpower I was seeing from ath9k on
ar71xx/WNDR3700. Even with CONFIG_ATH_USER_REGD set, I see 20dBm on both
radios. This is at trunk r23883 (current).
The intersection stuff is still clamping everything to 20dBm. Ignoring DFS
channels, the expected regulatory limits for US would be 27dBm from 2402MHz to
2472MHz, 17dBm from 5170MHz to 5250MHz, and 30dBm from 5735MHz to 5835MHz. Even
though I’ve requested US, I seem to be allowed to choose 5GHz channels 120-132.
I don’t think I should be able to.
The stock firmware on this router reports doing 23dBm on 2.4GHz and 18dBm on
5GHz.
