I followed instructions from there:
http://www.cyrius.com/debian/kirkwood/qnap/ts-41x/ and there is no mention
about mainlineLinux. I'll try it later.
I unpacked zImage
ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/testing/main/installer-armel/current/image
s/kirkwood/network-console/qnap/ts-41x/kernel and packed it back to uImage
the same way as Openwrt. The kernel booted normally.
