Hi. I have TRENDnet TEW-632BRP.
When it boots I see in dmesg: ath: DMA failed to stop in 10 ms AR_CR=0x00000024 AR_DIAG_SW=0x42000020 ath: Could not stop RX, we could be confusing the DMA engine when we start RX up ------------[ cut here ]------------ WARNING: at /home/kolya/projects/openwrt/build_dir/linux-ar71xx_generic/compat-wireless-2011-01-05/drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath9k/recv.c:536 0x80de7c38() Modules linked in: xt_IMQ imq nf_nat_tftp nf_conntrack_tftp nf_nat_irc nf_conntrack_irc nf_nat_ftp nf_conntrack_ftp xt_HL xt_hl ipt_ECN xt_CLASSIFY xt_time xt_tcpmss xt_statistic xt_mark xt_length ipt_ecn xt_DSCP xt_dscp xt_string xt_layer7 ipt_MASQUERADE iptable_nat nf_nat xt_recent xt_helper xt_conntrack xt_connmark xt_connbytes xt_NOTRACK iptable_raw xt_state nf_conntrack_ipv4 nf_defrag_ipv4 nf_conntrack ipt_REJECT xt_TCPMSS ipt_LOG xt_comment xt_multiport xt_mac xt_limit iptable_mangle iptable_filter ip_tables xt_tcpudp x_tables ppp_async ath9k ath9k_common ath9k_hw ath mac80211 ts_fsm ts_bm ts_kmp nls_base crc_ccitt cfg80211 compat arc4 aes_generic deflate ecb cbc pppoe pppox ppp_generic slhc leds_gpio button_hotplug gpio_buttons input_polldev input_core Call Trace:[<8007ead4>] 0x8007ead4 [<80069808>] 0x80069808 [<80069808>] 0x80069808 [<8007d988>] 0x8007d988 [<80de7c38>] 0x80de7c38 [<80df0000>] 0x80df0000 [<8007d9cc>] 0x8007d9cc [<80df0000>] 0x80df0000 [<80de7c38>] 0x80de7c38 [<80de5020>] 0x80de5020 [<80de2b4c>] 0x80de2b4c [<80de55c4>] 0x80de55c4 [<80d53c2c>] 0x80d53c2c [<8007a368>] 0x8007a368 [<80cb7408>] 0x80cb7408 [<80181240>] 0x80181240 [<800796d0>] 0x800796d0 [<80ca8788>] 0x80ca8788 [<80077fa0>] 0x80077fa0 [<80206324>] 0x80206324 [<80cafbfc>] 0x80cafbfc [<80caef50>] 0x80caef50 [<80181630>] 0x80181630 [<80caefa0>] 0x80caefa0 [<802095bc>] 0x802095bc [<802093a8>] 0x802093a8 [<802075bc>] 0x802075bc [<80209390>] 0x80209390 [<8020717c>] 0x8020717c [<80207b54>] 0x80207b54 [<801df6cc>] 0x801df6cc [<80207c44>] 0x80207c44 [<801d65ac>] 0x801d65ac [<8007a368>] 0x8007a368 [<80078e6c>] 0x80078e6c [<800796d0>] 0x800796d0 [<8009bef4>] 0x8009bef4 [<800c8aa8>] 0x800c8aa8 [<801e0dc8>] 0x801e0dc8 [<801d6b90>] 0x801d6b90 [<80073ba0>] 0x80073ba0 [<80079e50>] 0x80079e50 [<801d69d4>] 0x801d69d4 [<801d75c4>] 0x801d75c4 [<8006a11c>] 0x8006a11c [<80062544>] 0x80062544 ---[ end trace eedd51ee8d3461f9 ]--- And later on some times: ------------------------------------------------ ath: Failed to stop TX DMA in 100 msec after killing last frame ath: DMA failed to stop in 10 ms AR_CR=0x00000024 AR_DIAG_SW=0x42000020 ath: Could not stop RX, we could be confusing the DMA engine when we start RX up ath: DMA failed to stop in 10 ms AR_CR=0x00000024 AR_DIAG_SW=0x42000020 ath: Failed to stop TX DMA in 100 msec after killing last frame ath: DMA failed to stop in 10 ms AR_CR=0x00000024 AR_DIAG_SW=0x42000020 ath: Could not stop RX, we could be confusing the DMA engine when we start RX up ath: DMA failed to stop in 10 ms AR_CR=0x00000024 AR_DIAG_SW=0x42000020 ath: DMA failed to stop in 10 ms AR_CR=0x00000024 AR_DIAG_SW=0x42000020 ath: Could not stop RX, we could be confusing the DMA engine when we start RX up ath: DMA failed to stop in 10 ms AR_CR=0x00000024 AR_DIAG_SW=0x42000020 ath: Failed to stop TX DMA in 100 msec after killing last frame ath: DMA failed to stop in 10 ms AR_CR=0x00000024 AR_DIAG_SW=0x42000020 ath: Could not stop RX, we could be confusing the DMA engine when we start RX up ath: DMA failed to stop in 10 ms AR_CR=0x00000024 AR_DIAG_SW=0x42000020 ------------------------------------------------ I tried to increase ATH9K_TX_STOP_DMA_TIMEOUT and AH_RX_STOP_DMA_TIMEOUT to 20k but without and visible change. Is this known issue? Also, sometimes clients of this AP loose connection and cannot reconnect. In logs on AP there is something like 'client didn't ack authorization', on clients - authorization timeout. Restarting wifi on AP helps. Can this be related? Can those TX/RX DMA timeouts be harmful? Thank you in advance. -- Truthfully yours, Martynov Nikolay.
