I'm looking for a convenient way to attach gdb to a single board computer
(Nexaira BC2, MIPS) so that I can step through some kernel modules that I'm
developing.

I'm familiar with the use of a serial interface, most recently by connecting
two Vmware-based VMs via a virtual serial interface.

However, the device that I'm about to psychoanalyze doesn't have a serial
interface, but it does have Ethernet and USB. I suppose that I can purchase
an adapter of some sort for the USB interface, and run kgdb over it. Or, I
could use kgdboe and run my debugging session over Ethernet. The work I'm
embracing, is based on solid Ethernet interfaces and drivers, so kgdboe
should work OK.

On the other hand, I could just run my image via qemu-mips and run kgdb
against that.

Any suggestions? Any recipes?

Thanks!
John
