I see no problems in providing a valgrind-svn package which is more up to date 
and on top of which we apply this patch. I do not know how many people could 
test this patch, but having it in OpenWrt would certainly increase the user 
base.

I will give it a try in qemu tomorrow, thanks for keeping us posted with this 
useful patch.
