Why not simply change the eeprom data. All you would need to change to
override the tx gain type is change the field of struct
base_eep_header_4k::txGainType and afterwards recalculate the checksum.
And I don't see what the hacks that bypass CTL and regulatory power
values have to do with the external PA field - or why they're even
necessary.
