None of the above is a problem except for the communication with the maintainers itself. I can't speak on behalf of everybody but I did not know about these decisions until you started the thread. Nor was I informed that there was a scheduled discussion about the routing feed. To me it would make sense to include the people that do the actual work in these feeds in the decision process.
