I put my main reason in the original email: "Submitting this separately, partly because the device-support patches are a bit bigger and likely will take a little work." Particularly, the device in question uses some new disk layout and kernel packaging that's not yet supported in OpenWRT, and there are likely some questions to be resolved there. I figured the more obvious stuff (like this) could go separately. But I can just keep this in the device-support series, since that appears to be your preference. Stay tuned.
