The new PPP should then negotiate a MTU of 1500 with the ISP. If it can't
negotiate a 1500 MTU it'll fall back to 1492.
This isn't sufficient to get this working (TP LINK WDR4300 trunk). MTU is
still being negotiated at 1492 on a connection that has been tested and
confirmed to work with a 1500 MTU with other equipment.
