Hello,
I would like to request a new default in trunk/Chaos Calmer: mailsend
should be compiled with OpenSSL to avoid plain text auth and send emails
with SSL/TLS.
Currently mailsend package seems to be the only package which provides a
simple SMTP sendmail/mailsend command. Unfortunately it is not compiled
with OpenSSL support by default, so that plain text username/password auth
is the only way to authenticate with your ISPs mail server. Not possible
to encrypt password at auth and also not possible to send the content of
your email encrypted with SSL or TLS.
In my opinion this is a security risk in today's world!
Would be great if mailsend could be provided with built-in OpenSSL support
by default in trunk.
