I have a same problem.
I check pcb,and a see, some model contain diferrent ROM and RAM chip.
This is contain Windbond chip:

But my router contain MX25L3206E ROM chip. I think, ram is not critical
but rom?! I don't now. This is my first openwrt project, everything is new
for me :D
