IMHO this patch should be updated and then included in BB 14.07, since
it's not only useful for php, but also for fswebcam (at least the libgd
portion of it).
fswebcam offers the option to render text into a webcam image, but this is
only possible if libgd is compiled with freetype support (which the first
part of the patch takes care of, yet for the older 2.0.35 version, while
BB offers 2.1.0 already).
Inluding this patch into the 14.07 or trunk sources would be highly
appreciated!
