I have similar problem with AD-HOC mode 'iwinfo display wrong channel
width:
# iwinfo wlan ass
00:15:XD:XX:XF:XX -40 dBm / -95 dBm (SNR 55) 1740 ms ago
RX: 1.0 MBit/s, MCS 0, 20MHz 9849 Pkts.
TX: 54.0 MBit/s, MCS 0, 20MHz 2286 Pkts.
