I think the Geode Boards are more of a special type of embedded board.
Therefore you will need to build your own kernel to get everything
working, i.e. different network chipsets, sound or stuff will depend from
board to board. If you have similiar support for these NIC Chipsets
included in the Generic x86 Package, I would advise to include them here
as well, if not - then leave them out, to just have the same "user
experience" :). On the other hand, these NIC Chipsets were used quite
commonly, so including them could give most users and working connectivity
without needing to build their own image... So I think in the end it
wouldn't be too bad to include this support by default :)!
