We noticed that we do not have any issues with devices that are
continuously receiving incoming traffic on the ethernet internet - e.g.
due to olsr routing messages (every 3s) or regular pings (interval of
12s).
Outgoing traffice (without return) does not seem to help.
Thus it feels like this problem is caused by some problem with an evergy-
saving mode of the ethernet port.
