This bug have no logic. If there were such a error in general (you have
not told what device) in the stable 14.07, then you wont be the first
person reporting about that.
Sounds like a OS-Problem. Boot any modern linux live system and check
again if the error is still there.
This bug can be closed because there are no logfiles, no device naming, no
os-naming, nothing.
