I am trying to create a new firmware for my AP121 reference board, using
 the Image Creator.

When i failed, i asked in the forum about this; as there was no feedback
and after i read something more about openwrt, this seems to be a bug to
me, i might be wrong though.

I try to create an image, using the image creator, with a given profile
 (make image PROFILE=AP121)

As i already did write into the forum, this is the corresponding link:

 What i did:
 ---------------------------------
I did download the recent version from here:
 http://downloads.openwrt.org/barrier_br … 64.tar.bz2

 afterwords i did:
 make image PROFILE=AP121
 which returns some warnings:
 Warning: /Software/openwrt/OpenWrt-ImageBuilder-ar71xx_generic-for-linux-
 x86_64/build_dir/target-mips_34kc_uClibc-0.9.33.2/linux-
 ar71xx_generic/root.squashfs-64k is too big (> 1245184 bytes)
 Warning: /Software/openwrt/OpenWrt-ImageBuilder-ar71xx_generic-for-linux-
 x86_64/build_dir/target-mips_34kc_uClibc-0.9.33.2/linux-ar71xx_generic/tmp
 /vmlinux-ap121-4M.uImage is too big (> 917504 bytes)

and i get an ar71xx folder with 10 files within bin directory
 (pastebin: http://pastebin.com/PzjL9QrM )
 files:
 642 Jul 21 14:40 md5sums
 2,2M Jul 21 14:40 openwrt-ar71xx-generic-root.squashfs
 1,9M Jul 21 14:40 openwrt-ar71xx-generic-root.squashfs-64k
 1,5M Jul 21 14:39 openwrt-ar71xx-generic-uImage-gzip.bin
 1,1M Jul 21 14:39 openwrt-ar71xx-generic-uImage-lzma.bin
 3,2M Jul 21 14:39 openwrt-ar71xx-generic-vmlinux.bin
 3,3M Jul 21 14:39 openwrt-ar71xx-generic-vmlinux.elf
 1,5M Jul 21 14:39 openwrt-ar71xx-generic-vmlinux.gz
 1,1M Jul 21 14:39 openwrt-ar71xx-generic-vmlinux.lzma
 1,2M Jul 21 14:39 openwrt-ar71xx-generic-vmlinux-lzma.elf

in order to reduce firmware size i followed these orders:

https://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/obtain.firmware.generate#remove_useless_files_from_firmware

 which returns:
 Warning: /Software/openwrt/OpenWrt-ImageBuilder-ar71xx_generic-for-linux-
 x86_64/build_dir/target-mips_34kc_uClibc-0.9.33.2/linux-
 ar71xx_generic/root.squashfs-64k is too big (> 1245184 bytes)
 Warning: /Software/openwrt/OpenWrt-ImageBuilder-ar71xx_generic-for-linux-
 x86_64/build_dir/target-mips_34kc_uClibc-0.9.33.2/linux-ar71xx_generic/tmp
 /vmlinux-ap121-4M.uImage is too big (> 917504 bytes)

 (pastebin: http://pastebin.com/Q5Cbpmh1 )

After that, i still have the ar71xx folder, with 10 files:
 642 Jul 21 14:40 md5sums
 2,2M Jul 21 14:40 openwrt-ar71xx-generic-root.squashfs
 1,9M Jul 21 14:40 openwrt-ar71xx-generic-root.squashfs-64k
 1,5M Jul 21 14:40 openwrt-ar71xx-generic-uImage-gzip.bin
 1,1M Jul 21 14:40 openwrt-ar71xx-generic-uImage-lzma.bin
 3,2M Jul 21 14:40 openwrt-ar71xx-generic-vmlinux.bin
 3,3M Jul 21 14:40 openwrt-ar71xx-generic-vmlinux.elf
 1,5M Jul 21 14:40 openwrt-ar71xx-generic-vmlinux.gz
 1,1M Jul 21 14:40 openwrt-ar71xx-generic-vmlinux.lzma
 1,2M Jul 21 14:40 openwrt-ar71xx-generic-vmlinux-lzma.elf

but no firmware file i could upload to my device.

Since i simply followed the instructions and used an already existing
profile, I am not quite sure what to do ...

 ---------------------------------

Due to me only foolowing a given procedure, I think, this might be a bug?

 Thanks in advance!
