I've build Chaos Calmer (r46681) and encountered the same problem. The
5Ghz section in /etc/config/wireless was missing.
The official release image worked:

-ar71xx-generic-archer-c5-squashfs-factory.bin (r46163)
It worked when I'd build my image with kmod-ath10k. Looks like it is not
selected by default - which it probably should. :/
