#20669: firstboot/jffs2reset command has wiped other than overlay folder

I am using barrier breaker version on TPLINK MR3040. When I was trying to
reset the router by giving the firstboot command, it took unusually long
time (few minutes). Later after reboot, I realized that the entire files
from an attached USB backup drive have been deleted :-(. I think the issue
is caused due to the fact that I had a soft-link to the mounted drive on
 the overlay.

I believe that there is something wrong in the way the function
overlay_delete is implemented (directories being glob'ed recursively in
the overlay partition and deleted, which may not take care of soft/hard
 links?).
