#20777: bfd library not found when building a fresh image for ar71xx

Hi,
I had the exact same problem as described in this forum post:
https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=60293
when trying to compile a fresh image for a TL1043ND.
configure: error: bfd library not found
when trying to compile oprofile.
Did not find a recent commit that might be the root cause.
Thanks in advance for any hint/fix.
